Burns - an ecumenical metaphor?

Really enjoyed Gerry Carruthers' brilliant talk (no notes!) on Robert Burns and Religion the other night. Learnt a lot about how the range of Burns' fans is as broad and full of complex arguments as the ecumenical movement, maybe because Burns himself is so  multi-dimensional. We all  lingered quite a while over coffee and biscuits in the common room afterwards, debating the merits of Eddie Reader's interpretations of Burns' songs and the like. These are some of the best of times here...

New hopes for 2010 - our Jubilee Year

A very Happy New Year to you!

We start the year looking gorgeously like a Perthshire ski-lodge, snowy and magically frosted on every rampart... and with high hopes in this, our fiftieth year.

I hope you'll get inspired to wrap up well and snow-shoe your way across to our events - they'll be well worth it!
