Volunteer's blog

A cosy wedding

In November we had a very nice wedding at SCH: a small wedding ceremony in our chapel, typical Scottish food, about 40 guests and a very happy couple. It was nice to welcome them and to see that they really enjoyed that day. Though for me the best part was not the wedding day but the wedding organisation and preparations.  Our creativity and new ideas were appreciated.

Snow chaos

I’ve never expected to have a white Christmas in Scotland to be honest.  So I was quite surprised when it started snowing around the 20th of December. And it hasn’t melted yet!  But Scotland really cannot handle the snow.  It’s a mess…trains are delayed, flights get cancelled, pavements are covered in ice! Actually it’s pretty dangerous.  Though I might just expect too much because I’m used to winter road clearance and such things…

Test Volunteer Blog entry

This is a sample entry by a Volunteer.

The idea is that any Volunteers can contribute their own comments and descriptions as separate blog entries, relating to what they do for or at SCH from time to time.  Readers of the blog will be interested to learn what goes on and what Volunteers gain and learn from their experiences when contributing to the work of SCH.

In this way we can build up a sort of diary of what happens.
