Explore the legacy of the Reformation for the Churches and Scotland today.

Dr Alan Falconer and a Roman Catholic speaker with Bishop Bruce Cameron

This year marks the 450th Anniversary of the Reformation in Scotland.  The Papal visit to Scotland on 17th September has given a particular poignancy to the legacy of those traumatic events that took place in many parts of Europe during the 16th century.

In Scotland there has been a growing spirit of reconciliation between churches.  At the same time all churches are experiencing continuing decline in church membership and religious observance.  Can a reflection on the historical events of the 16th century have a significance to the churches in Scotland of the 21st century?  Or do we need another Reformation?

Dr Alan, Convener of Church of Scotland Committee on Ecumenical Relations, and a representative of the Roman Catholic Church will share their views on the legacy of 1560.
Bishop Bruce Cameron will respond from the perspective of one of the smaller churches in Scotland today.
